The End Table Chair originated from a functional inquiry: extending the typology of the chair to incorporate a secondary surface. The seat plane is lengthened to create an integrated platform capable of supporting everyday objects—books, notebooks, or tableware—without the need for an additional table.
This intervention shifts the piece from singular function to hybrid object, operating simultaneously as seating and surface. The extended plane remains structurally continuous, maintaining clarity of form while expanding utility.
The four splayed legs establish a stable base and introduce a subtle outward tension within the composition. Developed in response to available material offcuts, the configuration reflects an economy of means and a pragmatic approach to fabrication.
The End Table Chair has since become a recurring form within the studio’s collection, defined by its direct structural logic and adaptable presence.
