The Building Stool is one of goons’ most architectural pieces. Inspired by the Nordic Pavilion of the Venice Biennale, this stool explores how interconnected vertical planes create space, light, and volume. By experimenting with these themes in a furniture medium, we found new ways to join and stack the birch plywood. The creation of this stool was a true exercise in building, testing, and modeling, which led to its unique design. It draws attention to its own construction. It’s a geometrically simple piece with a bold silhouette.
